OUR STORY

Eisael Hernandez, immigrated to the United States in the 1980’s. He left behind his life back home, of working the tequila fields. What is famously known to be the epicenter of Mexico’s tequila industry, Tequila-Jalisco. His move to America was based on being able to create a better life for his family. Once in the states, he worked the orchards in Wenatchee, WA for many years until a business partnership in Chelan, Wa came upon. Welcoming him into the restaurant industry! As that partnership merged to Brewster, WA and Eisael saving every penny he had made during those years, in hopes to one day lead him to purchasing his very own restaurant. Dream accomplished-because that long wished dream, became a reality in the heart of Grand Coulee, WA.

Now known as La Presa Mexican Restaurant, translating to “The Dam Mexican Restaurant”. This is Sr. Eisael Hernandez first location, which opened on February 14, 1998. Once this location opened, he worked 10 years straight without having a day off other than, Christmas Day. Over the years, customers started asking him when a second location would be opening in Spokane, WA. Sure enough, La Presa’s second location was already in the works making opening day February 17, 2008. After all the hard work, dedication, and years of sacrifices for his family, Eisael and his wife Teresa Hernandez now both retired leaving their two youngest boys running the family businesses. Eisael Jr Hernandez, in Grand Coulee and Clint Hernandez in Airway Heights.

A big part behind La Presa’s success are the home made recipes and the in house seasonings, all created by Sr. Eisael himself. “At La Presa, we strive to give you consistency, be community oriented, and stay authentic in ourselves.” If you ask Sr. Eisael what he’s most proud of. He would say, his children. “I came looking for the American dream for my family, to provide a better life for them, to work hard and save money so you can do whatever you want in life and that’s exactly what I’ve done”.
